Text 15 Nov A war amid disaster?

Tacloban City,
Heavily Damaged: 10,000 feared dead,
cadavers of ripped children litter on the streets,
Ormoc City,
Totally Devastated: People are desperate,
the streets are infested with terrible hunger,
looting is everywhere,
The whole city: State with anarchy,
Most of the communities on the coastal areas around the Visayas region: Literally wiped out,
defaced from the map in a blink of an eye,
washed away into the ocean by tsunamis of 15 feet higher,
After the apocalyptic deluge of super typhoon Yolanda,
sufferings plagued with painful sadness reign,
dead mothers hugged by crying children still wet with gushing blood,
a confused father carrying the cadaver of his young daughter,
whole families uprooted,
died in a split second,
an old woman eternally searching for her dead sons and daughters,
the old man shedding tears before the church’s sacred altar,
his mind could not imagine the magnitude of the devastation,
an unthinkable natural calamity,
such a tragic phenomenon he just experienced in his lifetime.

My heart bleeds while watching these heart breaking news flashed
on television,
in every corner of the victims’ eyes are unimaginable sufferings beyond human comprehension,
not even a poetic thought could find a word to describe the sorrow they are going through,
even an artist’s passionate hand finds it hard to portray on canvass the agonies of homelessness,
worst than nightmare is that their dreams are swept away by heavy flooding.
how depressing to see them trembling under the bitter coldness without clothes.

Even the wrath of nature is terrible,
the very nature that we abused for so long,
but never loose hope,
there will always be calm after the storm,
as beautiful rainbow appears after the rain,
you’ll never walk alone through your endeavor towards rehabilitation and restoration,
in spite of the political scandal of corruption that afflicts our country,
the politicians that put us in global shame,
the disease that we are trying to cure day by day,
but always remember,
we are filipinos born with a spoon of resiliency,
deep in our hearts are true compassion for others,
the spirit of bayanihan still dwells within us,
hand in hand we help each other like a one big family,
together we stand united,
this tragedy will be overcame,
and realize that this enemy is just but a small problem to beat.
BAYANIHAN

One of the most difficult situations in life is to have so much and be afraid of losing them.

Ayon sa book ni Ptr. Ed Lapiz na "Happiness is Attitude / Happiness is Relationships", ito daw yung mga dahilan kung bakit ako unhappy. Hahahaha! Dito ako pinaka-timaan talaga eh. Here:

indiohistorian:

Performed by the award-winning Filipino choir, the San Miguel Master Chorale, with music performed by the San Miguel Philharmonic Orchestra, Paraiso was a song composed by renowned composer Ryan Cayabyab for the Filipino pop group Smokey Mountain. Cayabyab served as musical director and composer for the said group. Known to dress up in ragged clothes to depict the realities of people living in Manila’s garbage dump called with the same name, Smokey Mountain, who originally performed the song, had performed for the United Nations World Summit for Children in New York in 1990 and won the Tokyo Music Festival in 1992. The group later disbanded in 1994, with the singers pursuing their individual careers as actors and singers.

Posting this now, in solidarity with the survivors (not victims) of Super Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda). Our hearts and prayers go with you in this time of loss and rebuilding.

Paraiso is the Filipino word for Paradise.

——

Return to a land called Paraiso,
a place where a dying river ends.
No birds there fly over Paraiso,
no space allows them to endure.
The smoke that screens the air,
the grass that’s never there.

And if I could see a single bird, what a joy.
I try to write some words and create
a simple song to be heard
by the rest of the world.

I live in this land called Paraiso,
in a house made of cardboard floors and walls.
I learned to be free in Paraiso,
free to claim anything I see.
Matching rags for my clothes,
plastic bags for the cold.

And if empty cans were all I have, what a joy.
I never fight to take someone
else’s coins and live with fear
like the rest of the boys.

Paraiso, help me make a stand.

Paraiso, take me by the hand

Paraiso, make the world understand

that if I could see a single bird, what a joy.
This tired and hungry land could expect
some truth and hope and respect
from the rest of the world.

10 Reasons To Trust God

1. He is God not man

Numbers 23:19a (KJV) says, “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent…” Man does not always have full control of his circumstances to keep his words all the time but God does.

2. He is a Promise keeping God

Psalm 89:34 (KJV) says, “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.” God respects covenants and His words (scriptures) are His covenants with man. God’s own part of the covenant is always constant and fulfilled. It is man’s own part that is always changing. God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

3. What He says He means
Numbers 23:19b (KJV) says, “…hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?.” Also Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” God does not play with His promises. If He said it then consider it done. God is faithful.

4. Nothing is difficult or hard for Him

Jeremiah 32:27 (KJV) says, “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?” No matter what your case or situation may be God can and will handle it if you trust and allow Him to take over the case.

5. He will never forget His child

Isaiah 49:15 (KJV) says, “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.” Though God has the whole world to attend to, unlike man, He will never fail to remember you and your desire as an individual. Everyone is important to Him and that includes you.

6. He will never forsake His child

Hebrews 13:5 says, “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Men may forsake or abandon you, especially when things are not going fine with you, but not God. When you trust the faithfulness of God, you will see Him manifest on your behalf.

7. He has a record of keeping His words

1 Kings 8:56 (KJV) says, “Blessed be the LORD that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.” God’s yes is yes. He is trustworthy, dependable and reliable. God is faithful.

8. He is the Alpha and Omega

Revelations 22:13 (KJV) says, “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.” You can trust the faithfulness of God because He knows the end from the beginning. God’s word for that situation is the best because He already knows the end of that situation if you obey His word and when you don’t.

9. Faithfulness is God’s nature

Galatians 5:22 (AMP) says, “But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness,” The faithfulness of God is sure and certain. God can’t help being faithful because it is His nature.

10. He cannot deny Himself

2 Timothy 2:13 (AMP) says, “If we are faithless [do not believe and are untrue to Him], He remains true (faithful to His Word and His righteous character), for He cannot deny Himself.” For His name sake, He will show Himself faithful. God will not because of the actions of men deny Himself as a faithful God.

In conclusion, God is faithful now and forever more to fulfil His word in your life. There is nothing impossible with God. With men it may be impossible but with God all things are possible, Matthew 19:26. Therefore, trust in the faithfulness of God and you will see His glory upon your life.
